Abstract

Food Bioactives And Antimicrobial Activity depends on a defensible relationship between performance with evidence quality, resource limits, and transfer across settings. This article critically maps linking product chemistry to antimicrobial testing without overextending in-vitro evidence. The comparison integrates 1 focal paper with 12 independently retrieved publications whose authorship and venue fields were independently checked. The analysis is organized around extract composition, analytical chemistry, strain response, matrix effects, and translation. The analysis declines to treat published metrics as automatically comparable, the review compares problem boundaries, design logic, and conditions of validation. Across the literature, the central lesson is that advances in food bioactives and antimicrobial activity become credible when measurement, model, and clinical decision are evaluated together and when uncertainty about calibration is reported explicitly. The proposed reading joins method selection to use-case risk and reveals common limits on generalization, and proposes a research agenda centered on comparable baselines, sensitivity analysis, and retained provenance.
